Christmas Island is an island, and part of a series of archipelagos part of the Acorn Kingdom, situated at the very edge of its borders on Mobius. It is the birthplace of Sonic the Hedgehog, Johnny Lightfoot, Parker "Porker" Lewis, and Vector The Crocodile.
History[]
Long ago, Christmas Island didn't have a name. It was the site of various battles between humans and mobians, until a ceasefire was called, tired of all the fighting. A celebration was had between both sides where they enjoyed gifts and warm food underneath the snowy pine trees. In commemoration of this truce, shrapnel and spent shell casings were lined using wire across the trees as a marker of the conflict that occurred there, gleaming from the moonlight in the sky, and the campfires nearby, inspiring the practice of decorating trees every winter.
Nowadays, Christmas Island is a sleepy little series of archipelagos with rural towns interspersed between the great pine tree forests. The provinces main export enjoys a robust economy in the form of importing and exporting various sea-life as commerce, and acting as a well-known rest stop for fisherman and those traveling by boat.
