Mobius is the main setting of the Sonic Legacy comic series and its spin-offs, home to both Humans and Mobians. Multiple nations are made up across the continents, with the most prominent nations consisting of the United Federation and the Kingdom of Acorn.

History

The Five Great Civilizations.

The world as it is, is comprised of Great Civilizations, marked by eras. The First Great Civilization, Mobian Dinosaurs, were born with the power of foresight. With it, they came to see the many great calamities that would befall the world, and sought to prevent this by creating the Gaia Temples. The end of the First Civilization has been speculated by historians to have been caused by a meteor, wiping them out.
The Second Great Civilization had conquered dominated the world in the wake of the First. Extremely advanced by the standards of the time, they gained a reputation as great theives, and are credited with the invention of Extreme Gear. They were destroyed by the "time of awakening"; though their descendants still populate the globe.
The Third Great Civilization were humans. Unlike their Mobian adversaries, they could not harness Chaos energy. Viewing this as a weakness, they began to create a counter measure for the Chaos Emeralds. The result, the Master Emerald. As a result of the Emerald's creation, the humans were wiped out, killing all but a small colonoy on Little Planet.
The Fourth Great Civilization started and ended as a result of a calamity. After their rivals were destroyed trying to Harness the emeralds, they were free to conquer the world with the use of their technology. The dissapeared, though, and no one knows why.

The present day Mobius is currently referred to as the Fifth Great Civilization, four era's ahead of the first. Although while Human and Mobian society has integrated, there are still cities with one pre-dominant race occupying them.

The first story arc, Legacy's Prelude, has the start date of 1991 AG, a nod to the year the original Sonic the Hedgehog video game was released.
